Actors on a Broadway run are usually signed to an "open run" contract. Which means they are obligated to remain with the show regardless of how long it runs. Of course, there are ways out of any contract.

Sometimes with an "open run" contract, Performers, Stage Management and Stagehands are usually given the option to renew or leave after a six month period.

So, short answer is yes, the same cast (espeically an original cast) can and usually will stay with a show for an entire run (ie. Phantom of the Opera ran here in Toronto for almost 10 years, much of the cast were still from the original opening).

Depends on their contract probably. I know Elizabeth Withers-Mendez was the original "Shug Avery" in "The Color Purple" on Broadway and she's still with the cast. And maybe they keep some cast members around longer because they do a gret job or they need someone who knows the part to make a new cast member feel comfortable.
