Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Does anyone have any acting tips for a first time performer?

Question:It's the first time I've had an impressive and important part, and I'd like to do my best. I play Muzzy in Thoroughly Modern Millie in my high school, and I'd appreciate any acting tips you could give me. Singing tips would be highly appreciated as well.

Remember that acting is reacting. Listen to what is being said to you carefully. Listen as your character and react. You also have to remember that during the performance that this is the first time you character is hearing all the words and the dialogue even if you have rehearsed it a million times and know your lines backwards and forwards there is still a thought process that you have to go through as the character in order to deliver the lines and make them believable.

Have a good show!

Rehearse and don't forget your lines!

well
i am 14 and 15 in september i have been acting for 3 years now i want to become an actress, but thats not wat you were wanting to hear....
my advice is:

1. dont look at the crowd directly look over them it helps me but i am able to look at them now.

2. speak loud and clearly the clothes absorb your voice

3. stay in charactor even if you mess up.....i mess up sometimes and always stay in charator.....except my last play i skipped a line and my last line was off so i thought fast and it didnt make sense and laughed the next three lines but i focused and i got back in to charactor.

4. practice the lines you mess up on and the line you will say if you do mix it up thats how i did #3

5. on breaks take a fast look at the next sceens lines that are yours...

i hope you find this information useful just find a spot you like to look at so you arent looking at the audiance.
