Think about what makes a character funny. A lot of times it's a quality that is normally annoying. Maybe she's bossy or super tidy or super untidy or so fascinated by one subject that she can't talk about anything else. I wrote a character recently who always wanted to win. She was always making a contest out of everything. One of my favorite minor characters on the I Love Lucy series was the supervisor in the chocolate factory. She had a small part but was memorable because she was such a total boss. You can take any quality and exaggerate it and make it funny. Build your character around that quality but then make her real.

When I took drama in my old high school, my friend Stephen took Hamlet's soliloquay (To be or not to be) and acted to it while he recited. He was an obsessive compulsive detective person that had to put everything in order including furniture, jackets, etc. My drama teacher thought it amazing. If using props, I recommend this and you can have friends trying to help-like CSI or something. But you will be the main character, the person every sees.

Hmmm im thinking a leader. A leader that um? leads!
