Grades are important in that you are an intelligent well rounded person. Acting is a difficult job and you need to be able to draw from many different sources of knowledge for any given character/part. The very best thing you can do to prepare yourself for acting and/or college is to volunteer, either for a local civic theatre or if your town does not have one start your own. Also volunteer in other places too, everything you experience in life can only help you. As for exact grades, stay at least around or above a b and you should be ok.

as regards to levels or grades you dont need any really to become an actress.

natural acting ability is what you need to begin with.

get yourself involved in your drama group at school - and if there isnt one - try to set one up.

obviously when you go to college - drama and performing arts are good courses to take.

its not like wanting to be a teacher where you NEED a teaching degree from university - theres nothing set in stone that you need 'this' and 'this' and 'this' or you cannot be an actress.

Hope all goes well

To get into Guildhall for example, you need 2 A2 passes (a - e) in any subjects. Italia Conti you just need to blow them away at the audition regardless of qualifications. Drama at A Level is now known as Drama and Theatre Studies by the way.

Well I intend to pursue acting as a career and I'm currently doing AS levels in Drama, English Lit., French and Politics. Politics isn't useful, I'm dropping it, but Drama is clearly important, as is English, as any of the BA (Hons) courses in theatre require academic study as well as practical work, and having a language is definitely useful. Most of the theatre schools' websites have a section on entry requirements, and you can always email/write to them to ask. Good luck!
