Well first of all, I suggest doing some acting classes, in and out of school...drama classes help alot, you learn about all different types of acting, and you have a professional teacher giving you contructive critism, and idea's that will make you a better actor. I also suggest if you like the whole "triple threat" thing..and anyway it would work in your advantage, to take some singing lessons..and dance lessons..I recommend jazz as it is very theatrical or ballet as it is the foundation of dance and helps you posture, flexability and strenght. Some schools even offer "Musical Theatre Courses" where you do acting for 45 mins, singing for 45 mins and dancing for the rest..the classes usually go for about 2 hours once or twice a bit.

For experience, try out for school plays..and community theatre. Community Theatre looks great on a resume, and it helps not only improve your acting skills but your social and working skills as you are being thrown into this enviroment with people you don't know and you have to work with them...naturally by the end of it you are like a family (: It is also good to befriend actors outside of school as well..older or younger each and everyone of them can share acting tips with you that you may have not known other wise.

Once you feel confident, get an agent..an agent will help you get auditions..get castings for commercials...tv shows..movies..theatre..voice overs etc. Research some legit agencies. Make sure you research everything! Even ways about how to travel to and from the agency when you need to meet, when your parents are unavailable to take you. (although i strongly suggest..or i insist that you make sure your parents take you to the first few meetings so you get a feel for the place, and they can sort out contracts etc and they know what type of people you will be seeing etc) Sit down with your parents and discuss how you want to pursue acting, and show them your research they will be proud of your research and see how responisble and serious you are about it.Auditioning for an agent usually consists of an interview, and performing one or two monologues.
Once you get an agent..(which may take a bit..but don't give up...just keep on trying) they will help you find auditions for things like commercials etc etc.

Do as many small plays as you can thats what gives you experience go for any role you can get!

If you're truly serious and have the committment, a degree in theatre in college is an excellent investment. The experience you get will develop your skills much more, and you will probably come out of it with some connections that could be put to use as well.

If your city has a Community Theater, ask about their audition procedures.

Soap Operas are taped in New York City and Los Angeles.

I hate to say it, but if you can't find a good monolouge, you haven't done enough plays yet.

Experienced stage actors can recite Williams, Checkov and Shakespear verbatim on at least 3-4 plays each.

If you want to be serious you have to live, breath and eat plays.

Gees, I'll wager there are 12 year old out there that know EVERY WORD of every song in High School Musical!

YOU are supposed to know Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Death of a Salesman, Cherry Orchard inside and out

And YOU are supposed to know which character (big or small) you can play in your sleep!

For Acting, I would recommend
