Writing a musical?!...?

Question:i am an influenced 14 year old who is absolutely in love with musical theatre. since i was little i have watched and sang along to musicals such as cats, jesus christ superstar, e.t.c and i really want to write my own! any ideas on how to start off e.g what to write about and stuff like that. any ideas?

first, i applaud you on being one of the first female low brass people i know (unless you are male w/ a female avatar)

second, pick your favorite songs and analyze the words. take your analysis and string it to make a story! kind of unconventional, but i would do it

Musicals not by best subject, what about writing about a family, that dramatically get cursed, and start marrying etc the wrong wife - Music can make this sound good - rituals, over-exageratting it etc..

A successful musical is a play set to music - not just a succession of songs. Unless you are passionate about the subject you will not write a good musical. If you are having to ask what to write about I would suggest you are not ready to write a musical. Sorry - but you did ask!

write about something you can connect to. it will go so much easier if you know what the heck you are talking about. you could base it off of your favorite book, or something like that, or you could base your characters off of people in your life.
