Position:Home>Theater & Acting> South Pacific: The Musical?

Question:Okay, so I'm playing Ngana in South Pacific. Has anyone played her? Me and my partner are trying to create a waltz step. We are learning French, too!
I just wanted to know if any of you out there were her in your musical in high school, and if you were, any pointers?

Thanks :]

My daughter played Ngana. Not a difficult role to play. I don't see why you need to work out your own waltz, your choreographer should help you and your Jerome work out whatever he/she wants you to do and it will most likely be very basic. You are supposed to be a young child and your French is very limited. You do not have extensive dialogue, you have one cute little song. Dites-Moi. Roughly translated you're singing about being curious about the sky being full of music. http://libretto.musicals.ru/text.php?tex... Try downloading the song on limewire or itunes. It's very short and repetitive so it won't be hard to learn. Just try to get the accent right since that's supposed to be your native language :-)

I assume you are small? This role is generally played by someone pretty young, maybe 7-9 years old but it can be played by someone older.

Congratulations!
