both have agendas, and because of that, they use people. fiona wants to be a beautiful fairytale princess, and so she uses shrek. sharpay wants the best performance in the talent show, and so she uses troy.

both are "princesses." fiona, literally, is the princess of far far away. sharpay is the "princess" of lava springs, the resort her parents own.

mommy and daddy give them what they want (this only applies to fiona in shrek 2). however, fiona's parents do this to make her happy, whereas sharpay's parents do this to placate her.
