Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Is it normal on giving up on what you use to love?

Question:I was wondering if any one who ever took theater class or any other class felt this way
At first I had a great interest theater class but now everyday I feel like I'm embarrassing my self and I hate it so much now, and I look at how so many classmates of mine are better than me.
Is that normal to almost give up on things you use to love? Do you think I should just totally give up that hobby because now I'm into guitar and I don't know if I'll feel the same way about that soon.

You sound like someone who just needs variety in life. If you don't like it, then take a break for awhile, and you might find that you want to go back to it. Also, don't worry about comparing yourself to other people. There's different acting styles and maybe yours is different from one classmate's who is different from another's.

Well you kinda loose touch with things, but i wouldnt say give up. If you hate it then you dont enjoy it anymore so you dont have to do it. But there is ALWAYS going to be someone better than you so dont give up because of that. Just use it as modivation to better yourself. If you stick it out you walk away with lots of memories, funny stories, and experience to help later in life.
In high school i was always into drama. I wasnt the best actress but it was still fun, but i got into tech theater and loved that even more. You might want to try the stuff behind the scenes to. Its just as much fun!

Theater may still hold your interest after some time has passed, taking the opportunity to reflect. You should pursue the need to branch out and explore new creative fields. If you don't think the world of theater isn't right for you, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

If you enjoy it, stay with it. If your heart leads you elsewhere, follow it. It will always be there for you if you change your mind.
