Question:I go to a public school and they have been promising a drama program for years ive been acting for a long time and i want to get back to it how can i help move this process along

what i did when i helped start my school's drama club is we got a list of all the people who wanted one and would participate. then we took it to the administrators and they worked it into the budget. with your school it may not be that easy. you might have to have some fundraisers if you are planning on putting on a play. if you just want to teach people about theater and stuff but you won't need anything you have to buy it will probably be pretty easy. what we did is we started the club and taught everyone the basics and got them ready for an audition and then when it came time that we wanted to put on a play we had a couple fundraisers and got the money to put on the play. good luck

First of all If its not in the budget i don't think they are going to do anything about it any time soon! Maybe you should talk to you principal about it. If all else fails try community theatre..its a lot of fun and personally i think you can learn more from doing shows than just learning about them.
