What do you have to say or do on stage that's freaking you out so much? A lot of actors find that it's quite liberating to get outside of themselves and do stuff on stage that they'd never do in real life. (Watch any good movie or TV show for a few minutes and you'll probably see some characters saying and doing pretty idiotic things. Trust me, the actors are having a good time.) If the character you're playing is evil or stupid, cut loose and make a complete villain or a complete fool of yourself. Enjoy.
