First of all..if you already haven't of course..enrol in a drama class outside of school..(if you do it already in school..i dont know if you guys have drama class in america?? in australia we do anyway...) yea enrol in a drama class outside of school, because even if you did improvisation etc a few months ago in school..there is still heaps to learn..so you get lots of information from both doing drama in and out of school..and plus your gonna be acting a lot..like a few times a week at school..then in the afternoon when you go to drama class..so you will be getting better and more confident.

I also suggest enroling in a singing class..and also doing a dance class i would recommend jazz as it is very theatrical or Ballet as it is the foundation of dance..some schools even offer "Musical Theatre Courses"..so you sing for about 45 mins, act for about 45 mins and dance for the rest..so the class would usually be once or twice a week for 2 hours.

For experience, I suggest trying out for community theatre plays...even if it's just an extra..you learn soo much by watching the other actors and listening to the advice the director gives everyone..I remember last year I did a school play..oh yea try out for all the school plays you can!..but anyway last year I was a fairy in A Midsummers Night Dream..and although there was a lot of waiting around..I actually learnt quite a lot because I heard the same old thing alll the time like "open up to the audience" "project your voice" and these things tend to stick in your head which is good!!!...also community theatre is good because your learning to work together with strangers you don;t know..which will be what it's like acting..but eventually you all become like a family and it's fabulous.

Once you feel you can do it..I suggest an agent.

I'm sorry, but you may not be able to find much work for disney and nickelodeon, but stay on the look out..but make sure you audition for other tv shows and other things your agent finds you as it is experience..and the more experience you have the more chance you may be considered for a disney show if the chance comes along.

Research a few agents, and make sure there legit, that they don't charge you any money up front..they only take 15% of your pay ONCE you start booking jobs etc.

Make sure you do your research before talking to your parents..have everything covered..is there a bus you can catch to the agent when your parents can't take you for a meeting ever once and awhile? because they have work commitments and everything..if you just drop all of this on them and haven't thought of it, they may stress out and worry and say no. So if you do your research and show them your plans when they can't take you there or whatever, they will realise how serious you are and how much you love it..and they would be more likely to say yes, as they don't have to worry if they can't take you.

Usually auditioning for an ageny consists of an inteview, and performing one or two monologues..usually from a movie or play..

Once you get an agent..(and you might have to try a few different ones until you actually get one) they will help you find auditions from here..

Good Luck!
and I hope this helped..

make a video, and send it to disney, or if there is try-outs for a new show go there and try your best and hope to get in. :)

Try a school play or something first and see if you really have the talent to do this professionally.

First off, nickelodeon and disney channel are bad ideas because they're extremely competitive, and if you do get in, they'll just throw you away when you get too old and you'll be forever known as a disney or nickelodeon corny preteen actor.

You should talk to your parents though. I have dreams of becoming an actress after high school and going to college somewhere, and I also have really good grades. When I talked to my parents, they were very supportive of my goals but also just said that there's many other things I could do too.

New York is a good place for theater acting, so take some classes, and start building your resume in small theaters and work your way to the top!

Well what your parents do or think shouldn't matter (i don't mean do whatever you want or be a rebell) but don't be afraid to tell people.
With that said, becoming ANY type of actor is hard work. The reality is that many actors, writers, filmmakers ect. are unknown and live in poverty. If you have really good grades, I would suggest keeping that up, go to a university or college where you can take acting classes on the side, get some experience. But also, find a comfortable job that provides money just in case the acting career doesn't go well.

Believe in yourself and stay smart about your decisions. Hope I helped.

The only way for a young teen to become an actor is to have their parents full support to the point where the parents are working hard to make it happen. Sorry, chum, you are not going to be on Disney.
