Position:Home>Theater & Acting> HELP! I'm a cheerleader in our High School Musical Play?

Question:Ok... can someone tell me what you think.

I auditioned for the High School Musical play at my middle school for Sharpay and say the slow one of "What I've Been Looking For".
On the callbacks I was number 12 out 60.
Then after the callbacks they posted the cast list... and I'm a cheerleader/party person (I dunno what the party people do, lol) anyways...
Do the cheerleaders have a very good part? It's so unfair because almost all the people that got the lead roles have been in sing/dancing/acting classes before and I haven't.
It sucks because I no one will even notice me... What can I do to stand out?

Thanks... and does anyone has any tips for me?

Thanks :)

In showbiz, every part is important, litterly. Imagin what would happen if no one audditioned for a cherrleader or anything other then a lead role. The people who did get lead roles are just as important as you. But they have been taught for probably years so they know how. So don't take it personaly. If you really want to be a bigger star even if it's just in a school play, get involved in stuff. Seriously, I did showbiz for my research project at school, you wouldn't belive me if I told you how many times it said every role is important.

Biggest thing of all: DON'T GIVE UP! I'm not just saying that. I was audditioning for this thing on REAL tv. I mean it. Know how many audditions Danny Devito went to before he got his first? 106!

high shool musical sux!!!

umm idk i dont watch that!=]
but i dont think they do casue my sister watches it!!=[

Do cheerleaders ever have a good part?

Try to exagerate a little in your part and smile and try maybe doing an extravagant hair do

I don't know, these are just some suggestions I hope they work

Don't "stand out" by doing something foolish. It's your part in the musical, perform it respectfully.
You got the part, no matter how small it is, and have a duty to perform with your all your heart.

That alone will help you stand out.

well i know what you mean because my school play did the same thing! only thing was it was Little Shop of Horrors...
but anyways i tryed out for the lead of Audry but got to be a dancer and singing chours. i was bummed but w.e. i just preformed my hardest and evyone thought i was the best of my group of people..basicly just do your best and besides you always have the curtin call at the end. :] thats a way to get noticed!

probably

i was the head cheerleader in my towns HSM and gabby's understudy. Try not to fall into the stereotypical cheerleader try and break out of the box get your character analysis done and it will help you alot. I would suggest to take classes the people who got leads are working hard for them by taking these classes and you should take them to if you want leads. take classes and practice practice practice!!!
