People with actual brains!!?

I found that apparently the use of Orc-extra isn't used as much as i thought it was...... how many of you actually know what it is.... (note!!! im not misspelling orchestra... i do have a brain!!) heres a hint.... COMPUTERS!!!! its not on yahoo and apparently is a theatre term for something else.... we get the music from MTI or something like that....... how many of you can i actually talk to about this without you thinking im a tard meaning orchestra!!!

I had never heard of it before either. The colleges I went to always had an actual orchestra. It makes sense to use it for high schools since you might have a limited capacity for obtaining an actual orchestra.

I guess have the fiddler pretend to play the fiddle. He will have to practice and sink it as closely as possible otherwise he will look like Brittany Spears lip syncing at the VMA's.

Well, I'm 38, been in theater and film production off and on since I was 19, I have never heard of the term.

Naturally, i plugged the term into various search engines and the only results I could find were in reference to LOTR.

So, as much as I think it was wrong for people to assume that you had made a spelling error, I do see how the confusion may have happened.

So, I can only advise stating exactly what ever this orc-extra thing is supposed to be, and hopefully you can find the answers you seek.

You have a bad attitude, but your previous question was perfectly clear. We had a bad situation when I directed Fiddler with our community symphony orchestra, the conductor was the music director. We cast a young, talented violinist for the one on the roof. He could have and should have played the music, screw tradition! But the conductor insisted that the first violinist of the orchestra play the music from the pit. Not a good theatrical choice in my book., We didn't need the Orc-extra, we had it covered.. The term is not familiar to me and I have directed musicals for 30 years including Fiddler.
