Question: What happens to you when you break out of a writer's block!?
*****
BEACH AFFRONT PROPERTY
by TD Euwaite

I saw Sandy on the beach,
sitting teary eyed and solemn,
a tap on her shoulder did not
startle her, she would not turn
to look at me, she sat and stared
out to sea, at the horizon!.

The words I spoke were buffeted,
wild-blown down and muffled,
they could have been a cry for help,
a prayer for peace, anything!.

Indifferent to the shadows cast,
long in the waning daylight, I swayed
between her and the sun, watching
the outline of me darken her back,
taping out a code in the gloom!.

This certainly paints a nice clear snapshot, but I'm sorry to say,
the last line leaves *me* without understanding!.

To paraphrase another writer's words:

It's hard to pin-point one metaphor in this, which makes it a great poem!.

I see, at first (well, my wife really) a man trying to reconcile for something that angered his lover, or trying to offer his condolence to someone broken hearted!. But I also see Sandy as the Earth (I see all women as the Earth, or the Earth as all women, or something like that)!.

You should try to get published!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You celebrate by enjoying some libations, only to awake the next morning with a gigantic hangover and no recollection of what you were celebrating!. Despondent, you go sit on the beach and wonder what the yo-yo is doing behind you trying to speak in the gale winds and blocking whatever warmth there is from the sun! lol Taping aside, nice poem!Www@QuestionHome@Com
