Question: Want to be a part of my poetry project!? All I need is your take on a few short poems!. It'll be fun!!?
I'm doing this poetry project and I have to get opinions of many people and their interpretations of poems!. Do as many as you can, even just one would be helpful! But you know what to do if you want the best answer! :)
So here I go:

A Leaf, by Bronislaw Maj
A leaf, one of the last, parts from a maple branch:
it is spinning in the transparent air of October, falls
on a heap of others, stops, fades!. No one
admired its entrancing struggle with the wind,
followed its flight, no one will distinguish it now
as it lies among the other leaves, no one saw
what I did!. I am
the only one!.

Success is Counted Sweetest, by Emily Dickinson
Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne'er succeed!.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need!.
Not one of all the purple host
Who took the flag to-day
Can tell the definition,
So clear, of victory!

As he, defeated, dying,
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Burst agonized and clear!

To See A World In A Grain Of Sand, by William Blake
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour!.

Memories, by Me!.
under the bed
under the dust
your memories lay untouched
for years you've known
They've been condoned
it's been long enough!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My favorite from the above is the poem entitled "A Leaf" for 2 separate reasons:

First - I interpret this poem as saying we tend to notice people only when they are "at the top" -- let's say like a successful actor!. But, when he loses his touch and other younger and more "hip" actors come into the limelight, the older actor is no longer noticed!.!.!.

Second - the poem ever so slightly reminded me of the short story entitled "The Last Leaf" by O!. Henry!. An unsuccessful older artist endsup painting his greatest masterpiece to keep a young female artist with talent get through the winter alive!. She is very ill but believes as long as there is one leaf remaining on the vine, she will survive!. The older artist's painting is so realistic that she thinks it is real and, therefore, does get better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
