Question: A poem of fear and solitude!?
I always wonder what the verdict would be!.

When the judge slams the hammer down and makes his claim!.

I've been in prison for years!.

I've been out of prison for years!.

I had fear of prison for years!.

I had fear that you could bring me down!.

Your decision to take me in or walk away!.

is the driving force behind me biting my nails!.

I was on the way to the gym!.

but you're presence stopped me in my tracts!.

interrupted my day!.

I'll try to hold on the best way I can!.

if there is ever a day that you would walk away!.

but I'm constantly pleading for your acceptance!.

on my knees in my black suit in front of a big red sun!.

pleading even when you were unknown!.

wishing it had never begun!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Judging by that last line, I would suggest that this poem might also be about regret!.!.
I think this poem is good, especially since you're a new writer, but could use some more figurative language!. "I was on my way to the gym" sounds very much ordinary, everyday vernacular!. Add some metaphors, similes, even descriptive words!.!.spice it up a little! If this is just your preferred poetic style though, then by all means stick with your originality!. But if you want others to really feel the emotion in your poem more strongly, I say take my advice!.
Good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
