Question: Can someone help me with an in depth analysis on this poem!? !?
There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white;

Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done!.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn
Would scarcely know that we were gone!.

-- Sara Teasdale

There are to focal points presented!. One is the activity of man engaged in war and all the hardship that entails!. The other is the passing of seasons and interaction of other natural beings sharing the earth with us!. Our self imposed strife seems important to us!. Enough so to kill and be killed!. How precious a human life is ans yet we find causes to fight wars over to lose it!. Yet natures other creatures seem to exist quite well without war!. If we were to kill every human being, a suppreme tragedy for the human race, it would barely be noticed by the birds, trees, frogs, and passing of th seasons!. Put it on a personal level, if someone in your family were to die today, would the birds, squirrels and insects outside miss that person!. Henry David Thoriou wrote about an ant war he observed under a glass at Waldon Pond!. The point of the short story was the ants were fighting and dying, yet the outcome of the war meant nothing to the world they lived in!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
