Question: What does the below poem make you feel!?
Upon me no more
Weights as dead as those
I can no longer greet
Sinew misaligned
Thoughts borrowed and wasted
A speck of enthusiasm from each of you I plead
Tell them all that I reached not in vain but in despair
I took it all then let go before I began my reward
Maybe it is the fear of self worth than steals my esteem
Lower me, lower me I will climb no moreWww@QuestionHome@Com

It sounds like the will to give up is stronger than the will to persevere in this poem!. The idol (main figure in a poetic body) isn't looking for a way to return to the height of their existence again, just acceptance that they are not what they once were!.
It blends together the themes of the condemned past and the acceptance and fall of that idol's life!. But through all of this it is essential to remember: only by accepting ones fall, can they move forward!. Not rise to power, but to continue to live in the most basic terms!.
I like it, but like the person above, I just hope it's good writing only; it reads a little like a suicide note!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
