Question: How can we poetically go where we've never gone before!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Through the poetic words of others!. Many on here have taken me places visually, spiritually and emotionally I could have not gone without their words!.
How do we as writers use our words to go to destinations we've never explored before!? For me, it's emptying my mind, my mental screen, and waiting for an image to come in a way it never has before!. And I thank the good Lord for it when it does!

It's hard to answer a question like that
(well, for me at least) without it sounding
so!.!.!.rehearsed, cheesy, or anything along
those lines!.

Poetically, for me at least, is when the
moment strikes!. A euphoric state of mind
that grasps hold of you and all you can think
about it passion, beauty, and things beyond
the simple reality of ourselves!. It could be a
person, a song, religion, friendship, love, art,
etc!. - just anything that brings something out
of you that is out of your control, but it's so
pure and wonderful that it's almost too good to
be true!.!.!.

I'm not sure if this is something any one can
comprehend (well, with the way I put it), but
being lost in a poetic state is wonderful!.
Really, just purely wonderful!.

maybe physically go where we'd never gone before, do things we'd never normally do, associate with people we don't usually hang out with, do crazy stunts, think mad thoughts, deliberately alienate someone you love, go out with a pen and paper and just sit somewhere with no one around, so you can do whatever it is you need to do there to get something down that is not of your milieu!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You answered Your own question semi-loyal Star Trek fan!. You go to outer space and go where you never gone before!. For those lacking the funds of NASA to do that, you take a voyage to your inner space!. Get into contact with that part of you that is totally divine-- your innermost God head!. !. Most poets can speak from their hearts!. Only the great ones can speak from their souls!. Those are the ones who are most fully in contact with the world and the universe!. Most great poets (about over 95 percent of them) never get beyond what their hearts tell them!. The best poets not only can see their own hearts clearly, but the soul of the rest of the world and the pulse of the universe!. They are great because they know themselves wonderfully well, the world even better and God just as much!. That is why so much of 20th century poetry, though brilliantly original and poetic to the max, seems very incomplete!. Most of the great poets of our time can't seem to jump into the third part!. Maybe because it is chic to be an literary and poetic agnostic!. Too bad they are cutting themselves off true greatness!. So where is the best poetry ever written!. Right in the bible!. the book of psalms and the poetic power of the words of Jesus continue to awe me with their freshness, and their wonderful divinity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Semper, we learn more of the craft of poetry; we read new poets and study them; we practice writing in a variety of forms, exploiting a variety of effects!. We read and read and !.!.!. I know this works because it is what I did!. Like most everything worthwhile, it's just a lot of good, old-fashioned work! Keep the faith, brother!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

With honest words and never feeling the weight of personal affronts and retribution for penning ANYTHING !!!

Fear, something I know a lot about, has no place in expressive writing, regardless of the nature!. Real or perceived from outside sources, fear should never influence ones creativity or desire to release!.

Thanks, SFR!.!.!.now, let's all go thereWww@QuestionHome@Com

slowly and one step at a time!.!.!.the road rarely travelled can be steep and curved but we learn as we go!.!.!.just step out!.!.!.!.take an umbrella and a bucket in case it rains!. (one to protect from raining arrows and one to collect the blessings)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
