Question: Is it the ultimate goal among poem writers to get published!? !?

perhaps a dream!.!.!.!.!.

!.!.!.!.!.!.but not an ultimate goal!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think it's an ultimate goal to get poems written published!. I believe that poems are written to express feelings or emotions, events or things that have happened!. Getting your poems published does help spread awareness of them on a larger scale, but the first poems written were usually shared in a small audience!. So if a poet wanted to share their ideas then they should try!. It isn't mandatory or any kind of ultimate goal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No it is not!. I never ever thought my poetry would be published but when I started getting offers from publishers I figured why not!? If they thought my poems were good enough for publication why should I deprive others from reading them!. The publishers publish them for me for free and contact me for my poems because they have heard or seen them and want to publish them!. I don't send them to all the publishers who want to publish them, just the ones who I have found reliable!. Although my poems were for my family and me why should I not share them with the world if I have the chance!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, at least not for me!. I write to express myself, to get what is in my head on paper and to create!. Of course it would be nice to have a few published, but also there are quite a few poems I have written that I do not want anyone to read, because they are too much a part of me to share easily with one person, much less with the world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably!. A lot of people that suck at poetry seem to want to convince themselves and others that their work is somehow unique!. Some of the crap I read on here is truly atrocious, but the authors seem to think it's worthy of praise!.

Sometimes I stare at the screen with a big "!?!?!?" over my head!. Like, "WTF are these people thinking!?" ;)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd say it has more to do with an expression of what's inside, than recognition!. Kind of like when I play my saxophone !.!.!. it's more for what comes out of me than what the perception of it is!.

I wonder how easy it would be to steal AsUWish's poetry journal :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not necessarily!. It's a nice goal if poems are your passion to get paid for it, but some people write poems to express themselves and don't care about the money (though few would argue if someone were to pay them for it)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Any one in the arts, (poet, artist, playwright, author) WANTS to get published, receive accolades and become famousWww@QuestionHome@Com

Only for those who would like to share their poetry on a larger scale!. The majority of poets either write for themselves or for a few close associates!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know about most poets, but I usually just write it because it's a passion of mine!.!. same with anything else I write with the exception of one book I'm writing now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
