LifeIsIronic & DebraLynn's Broken Time, It's about Ignorance,!.!.

____
Walking this crowded street, I groan;
Surrounded by people, yet all alone;
Going their own ways, I know not where;
Just that, concerning me, none of them care!.

They're so lost in a trance;
Unaware of what’s around!.
I firmly take a stance,
As I hear not a sound!.

Then suddenly the pace
Of motion seems to cease!.
I look into each face;
See stares of stony peace!.

My mind begins to whir
With thoughts of stunned amazement!.
Did this really just occur!?
I’m lost in my displacement!.

Where were they all going!?
Why have they ceased to move!?
I wander without knowing;
Thoughts stuck in this new groove!.

So I push past this mob--
A city fast asleep--
Doing my best job
To move silently and creep!.

The world has lost all meaning,
With this stillness everywhere!.
And now my thoughts are leaning
Towards the madness in the air!.

The people’s empty faces
Look oh so dark and clear,
Caught in their rigid places,
Like they’re not really here!.

Storm clouds brew above,
As I ponder on this scene!.
Please, I've had enough!
What does all this mean!?

So I start to investigate!.
I walk and look for something!.
But, my mind can't contemplate
The thought of finding nothing!.

The sky is getting darker!.
I can’t take too much more!
There is no guide or marker;
Don’t know what I’m looking for!.

So I start to move forward
Across the bare thin lane!.
My thoughts start to turn inward!.
My mind finds itself insane!.

A raindrop splats the concrete,
As I stumble on my way!.
I wonder what I might meet
Up with, on this so strange day!.

I look up and hear
Roaring; lots of sound
Starting to come near!.
I feel shaking in the ground!.

The rain is falling harder!.
Through the drops I see
A rocketing Dodge Charger
Coming straight at me!.

I hear the tires squealing!.
The car is running hot!.
The rubber now is peeling!.
In my throat, fear is caught!.

I leap toward the sidewalk!.
The rain is coming fast!.
People start to talk!.
I see and hear at last!.

As I rise to my feet,
Reaction confused, dazed
I look back at the street,
Dumbfounded and amazed!.

Again, the people pass me!.
Once more, they raise a din!.
I can see their apathy!.
I feel alone again!.

So back to my routine life I go,
With nothing left behind to show,
As I blend in with all the rest,
Ignoring my feelings, for the best!.
