Question: Can you explain the message of this poem!?
Groundless Consistency

I pretend as flawlessly as I can -
As if flawless will ever escape flaw;
As if poetry and lies among men
Be a blend sep'rable raw!.
As if ends and meanings and beginnings
Will ever deny their bonds intertwine!.
And truth be severed from shafts of the mind!.

I can only dream to drift with the drillings
So devoutly, so endlessly spanning the berth
Of oceans and oceans of points of lights aglow -
Brushing the coolness of the warm earth firm -
Firmly sinking and twirling all it once held of worth
Like leaves awash in the first hints of snow
Shuddering, prancing, suppressing a squirm!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first stanza basically revolves around the first line, "I pretend as flawlessly as I can"!. The following lines sort of negate the first line!. For me, there's a sort of sarcasm at work!. So basically, it means, I try to pretend perfectly, but as if! something like that!.

The second part is the persona's resolve!. He can only dream to be perfect!. Only in his dreams can he flawlessly pretend!.

I don't know if this is right, but it's how I interpreted it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It actually is an imagination in someones mind!. It seems to talk about dreams!. also about the earth!. It is what the author wants to be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is it in a nut shell!. I'm a whiny little miserable person who wants you to feel bad for me because I'm going through all the things everyday people deal with!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
