Question: Comments on a poem about elusive Holiday spirit!?
Death toll rising in old Bombay
Son-in-law leaving on Christmas Day
serving his country in war far away
leaving young family temporarily at bay
Bringing out boxes with such heavy heart
today is the day tradition says start
decking the halls, fresh tree pa must cart
untangle strings ma simply can't part
Hard facts of life derailed holiday mood
decision to decorate much time I did brood
Handel's Messiah in background then wooed
Prince of Peace will be given true honor He's due!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i hear ya, it's hard to feel the holiday spirit when troubles abound!. my dear aunt is wasting away with alzheimer's in a nearby nursing home!. my parents are aging and i notice how much my mom has failed lately!. my husband can't find a much needed job, while at age 58 he really should be retiring instead!. problems everywhere you look!. i guess that's what holidays are for, to get our minds off our troubles!. wishing goodwill to others!. i always get a little melancholy, remembering loved ones that aren't with us anymore, and the happy, simple Christmases of my childhood!. your poem is perfect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
