A parody makes fun of something that already exists, using the same form!. That's why people keep telling you to look up Weird Al!. His songs are parodies, because they poke fun at the original song while keeping the same form (the same music)!. In writing a parody poem, you would be poking fun at a poem!. You would do it by keeping the same style the poet uses but changing the content to be sillier and to work against the original meaning!.

For example, a parody of Shakespeare's 'Shall I compare thee to a summer's day!?' might be, 'Please don't compare me to a summer's day' or 'Shall I compare you to a rotten egg!?'
