I know what a thesis sentence is but I'm having trouble coming up with one for this particular poem!. I fully understand the poem and I have some ideas that I want to include in my paper, but as far as creating a single sentence, that seems so difficult when I have so many things I could say - something general that sums up the whole poem!.
Can someone give me an example that relates to this poem!? I promise I won't use what you give me - I just want to see what ideas people come up with to help me generate something!. THANKS!. Please see poem below:
I, Too by Langston Hughes
I, too, sing America!.
I am the darker brother!.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong!.
Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes!.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then!.
Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--
