Question: Would you comment on this poem, is it a trick or a treat!?
A Halloween Sonnet
by C!.S!. Scotkin

The screams of Banshees echo through the night
As Ghosts their trains of icy mist do drag
Lost souls into the mire and dank blight
Hear loosened cry of harridan and hag!.

A witch in gauzy black across the moon
Has made my blood to chill within the vein
And my soul prays for brightness, begs for noon
As demons circle, dance within my brain!

The bats emerge from blackness all too deep
To fly with devil wings into my hair
There is no chance at all for me to sleep
this nightmare is the only thing I’ll share!

A Hallow’s Eve of great and scary fun
My wish upon this night for everyone!

Your sonnets are always a treat! I might clean up the verse a bit:

While Banshee screams echo throughout the night,
Ghouls their trailing chains through icy mists drag
Lost souls into the quagmire and dank blight
Amid loose cries of harridan and hag!.

Shrouded witches black against orange moon
Cause blood to chill and gel deep in my vein
My soul cries out for light and begs for noon
Wild demons circle, dancing in my brain!.

Vampire bats swarm within the darkness deep
Tangling claws and devil wings in my hair
Without hope or chance, bereft of all sleep
This dreadful nightmare all I have to share!.

An All Hallows' Eve of great scary fun
Is my wish to you this night everyone!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dear Lady,

As usual your words are set out in poetic beauty!. I think if I were in your situation I would want the morning to come rather than the noon!. (But it does rhyme with moon)!. Perhaps !.!.!.of a cursing old hag!. As harridan and hag seem to be referring to two women!. But what right has this old gent to make such minor comments when his own works are not on a par to yours!. Your poems are a delight to read!.
