Question: Examples of basic metrical patterns in poetry!?
I need four poems, each illustrating one of the four basic metrical patterns: iambic, trochaic, anapestic, and dactylic!.

I'm having a hard time finding an example of dactylic meter, but help with any of these would be greatly appreciated! It would be best if these poems were under 10 lines long!.

Thanks so much! (:Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do a web search on the term "double dactyl!." That's a light verse form that uses dactylic meter!. You'll find lots of examples!.

Limericks use anapestic meter!. Sonnets use iambic meter, as does blank verse!. Robert Frost wrote quite a bit of blank verse, as well as rhymed poems in iambic meter!. Longfellow used trochaic meter in "Song of Hiawatha!."Www@QuestionHome@Com
