The stone house and the fence represent the ability of money and power to isolate their holders from the poor and the hungry and even from children, all of whom are not welcome on the premises!. However, the final two lines point out that death and the weather and the inevitable changes of time can not be kept away, even by all the protections erected by the rich and powerful!.
