Election Day Results

Once upon a time
I shook hands
with a great one
in his office, oval
the house, white
he liked Nancy
to wear red, so
I dressed to please
it's been a quarter
century since then
he is gone, my
hair now white
he was too good a man
to be President
I miss the man
such as he!.
What shall our
country be!?
He wasn't there
to catch Nancy's fall
and isn't here to
watch election day

Another great piece!.!.!.!.I know that you and I have exchanged e-mails about RR in response to one of my own questions!. I was 3 years old when he took office as president!.!.!.!.and I must have been 11 when he left office!. So!.!.!.!.I have some memory of his time as president!.!.!.!.although I grew up some 3,000 miles away from Washington!.

I think the last five lines of this one are particularly striking!.

I remember growing up with this manufactured fear of "Nuclear fallout"!. In school, we were forced to watch some show called "The Day After" about what we would do the day after a nuclear attack!. Reagan stopped all that nonsense with one visit to Russia!. No more threats!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
