Question: Will you read and comment on my "Memory"!?
"Memory"
by Peter Benoit

There is a stony stillness o'er the hill
To mark the passing of another age
And its bequest becomes a codicil
Of melancholy time will not assuage!.
The strains of joy unfettered, mournful now
Faint echo in my heart, their haunting chord
Becomes night's undertone and fitful vow
To leave a lingering sadness unexplored!.
But when the whisper of a summer eve
Exhumes its mouldering flesh, all memory past
Comes creeping in the dark to interleave
In living moments thoughts ecclesiast!.
Such is the subtle play of Time's vast mill
That grinds all things to stillness o'er the hill!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dear Peter,

I have to agree with The Mighty Lano, your talent is not for this site!. I have read and digested all of your poems, if I were to comment on all of then I would only be repeating myself!. Your works are masterful and saying that is an understatement!. I will have to confess that my finger is on my mouse so that I can readily click onto WordWeb for it is the only way that I can really appreciate your poems, to leave them because of their difficulty would be tantamount to criminal!.
Peter my friend you are a poet of the highest caliber!. Not only do they contain words of wisdom but they contain challenges which if accepted open the mind to new words and their meanings!. Phrases which are heaven sent to you who's mind is ever open to its promptings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have to borrow from Mr!. Harrison's answer!. This one goes above my grasp of diction, not so far as to make it completely incomprehensible but hard for me to read aloud due to some of the words being virginal to my tongue!. I'll just say that: I hope the last two lines summed it up, because that's a good point, Time grinding all things still!. Memories ARE inanimate in a way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's what I call a belter! Though far too good for the likes of here!. Every word a joy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
