Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
what you need to do is find an inanimate object like a old tattered book and have a conversation with it and write it down on the page!.
Follow the same thoughts and expand the situation even to a farcical state if need be to keep it flowing!.!.!.
You will change your style, I am sure as you seek the internal poetry of the sandwiched paper between the binding!.!.!.!.!.
Step out on a limb, you can get so creative!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I write poetry that is frequently printed because it associates with events, things, people etc!. I am invited to read a poem on November the 2nd!. based on the recasting of six Church Bells for a very old Church!.
I saw them recast and it brought the idea of a poem to mind!.
And there you have it, the best poems are based on experience or something that moves you!.
You don't just sit down and say,"I will write a poem today"!. Better to get up and walk away!. Possibly you will find, something will come to mind, a poem should not become a grind!.
Try a Limerick based on McGonagal's style!.

There was a young man of Weston Super Mare!.
Who had been invited out to tea somewhere!?
He put on his skates,
so he would not be late!.
But he just did not see the end of the quay, and fell into the sea, that was there!.
