Buk once mentioned his old, dead pants
in a corner somewhere, some town
some whore had stolen his poems
and he resorted to begging!.

Who begs for poems anymore!?
There are plenty and we save them
in metal boxes on our desks
the pen and paper, old and dead!.

Maybe it means we do not care
maybe it means poetry's cold!.

We write with fingers and not eyes
we caress the solemn keyboard!.

People do seem to be almost forced to live at the speed of sound today!.
Over here in Holland we have coined a new word called onthaasting!.!.
Which loosely translates as to unhurry yourself!.
It's a sign of the times unfortunately, traveling at high speed may get you somewhere fast but the mode of travel means everything in between passes and flashes by!.
Taking a bummel ,slowly choo choo ing along and hearing that lonesome whistle blow is indeed a cleansing ,soothing experience!.
People should indulge in that more often!.

I am forced, because of my profession, to hand write thousands of words every day!. The keyboard has become the symbol of new found creativity
for me and is less messy than an eraser!. But I print them all out and put them in a loose leaf binder for posterity!

Actually, the pen and paper slow me down!. I have to get my thoughts out fast, and the keyboard keeps up with my mind!.

Sometimes by the time I get that pencil to the end of the first line of my thought, the second line has slipped away!.

I still use a fountain pen and leather journal!. Nobody is going to be finding hard drives and disc five thousand years from now!.
