LAST NITE
Last night my body gave way,
as in my bed from side to side, I did sway
!. Usually only one side did get numb,
But tonite I was cold,
all my sides were so numb ,
I was really very dumb!.
Did I know it was my time to go,
no not yet, I have a long way to go!.
But then I could not get up and take
a tab of my medicine under my pillow!.
I kept the numbness to myself ere
the world would know and wonder
how all of a sudden I went asunder!.
So I kept hold of my mind
no solace nor comfort I could find!.
Then I started to pray
Oh Lord do not take me away,
children are young
their age to enjoy has just begun!.
Have mercy and do let me stay
To nite for the coming day!.
Last night was a different story
the night was young, but the dream so gory
when my sensation did return
Glory, glory my smiles returned!.
Oh thank you Almighty
I am a live to have my say
Will always take precautions each day,
this I promise
But never let me go this way!.
To my demise have mercy,
Oh Great ONE, come to my side
When- ever from this world,
I want away, to ride!.
