Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Definition: Personification is giving human traits to a non-living object!.

Why: Personification is used to make the emotions in a poem more pronounced!. It adds more to the mood of the poem, in other words!. It assists with imagery so you can visualize it!. It resonates in your mind!.
For example: The sunflower faced the sunlight!.
In a Metaphor: The sunflower yawned and stretched towards the sunlight, feeling rested after the long night!.

How: You use it to make something more clear with images and mood!. Be consistent with your mood and tone!. Mainly, be sure that you're giving human traits to anything inanimate, instead of something that can feel!. Be creative!

Hope this helped!. I think I was thorough!.

Personification is used toward objects or things that aren't alive and are then given emotions, feelings, and aspects a human has!. For example:
"The tree moved it's leaves as if singing!."
"The sun followed me everywhere I went!."
"The roots came out and grabbed me so I fell"
"The thorns caught my shirt tightly and wouldn't let go!."Www@QuestionHome@Com
