Question: Do city dwellers miss the stars!?

Remember the Night
by C!.S!. Scotkin

In eastern skies Sol makes small clouds to blush
Before his rotund golden face he shows
And birds conspire all to cease their hush
Their ancient song which as a river flows!.

And noon day heat rains down from his great face
So shadows dark do shrink and hide away
Till down the hill of heaven’s open space
Sol runs his course and shadows start to play!.

There was a time, yes, eons long ago
When lives were ruled by markings of Old Sol,
Of planting time, or icy winter’s blow
At night, a hearth, where poets sang for all!.

In cities now, we turn dark into light
And never see the Milky Way, once bright!.

As a city dweller I can say that: yes, I miss the stars!. I use to live out in the country with a pretty good view of the Northern most part of the sky (that's where I saw them Northern Lights), and I've spent many days and nights in the desert!. In the desert you can see Mars--all the time!.
My kids have never really seen the Milky Way yet, and this poem reminded me of how important that should be!. Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I miss the stars all the time!. No longer - do I sit out on a starry evening - and gaze into the heavens!. There are no stars here - in this coastside community - the fog layer sees to that!. On the rare clear nights - our stars are obscured by the lights of a large city to the north!. I never forget the beautiful stellar lights - and know they are there - but their visual absence has changed my lifestyle!. ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are determined aren't you!? Playing around with a sonnet form!. Overall I like but I think flow wise this could use some work!. Great images!. Only one line with 9 beats!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

A beautiful poem to remind us that there is beauty in the sky!. Lifetime city dwellers that have never ventured to really dark places have never had the opportunity to see the stars as they should be enjoyed!. Each in it's place, and each with a name, watching constellation play games as they move across the night sky!. I now have a longing to find a place with no lights, maybe an island, and lay on my back and stare into the night sky as I did as a youth, and watch the stars for signs of life, and exclaim at the sight of the occasional shooting star, and marvel if I should see a meteor shower with hundreds of streaks in only a few seconds!. Am I a hopeless dreamer to want to experience this again!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
