Let's not call the act "confession"!.
Let's call it a laying down of the Truth!.

In that case, it can create!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is entirely reliant upon whom you are confessing, nay pouring your innermost thoughts to!. In some cases with a reliable confidant is lightens what can be a heavy load!. A secret divulged to a village gossip soon brings ruination to ones repute!.

I have entrusted a confidence to a woman and walked the length of the street to find friends awaiting at the other end are well informed!. It is amazing if not miraculous how quickly bad news travels!. Good news tends to be slower paced!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I put the facts bare bone out on paper
whether they relate directly to myself or someone I am close to or even some one I just observe closely, They all come out to the same words!.
They are cathartic in quality and yes having them commented or answered is very good at reinforcing the needs for change or acknowledgement!.
So Confessions aside, I think that Yes laying it all on the line is good for the soul!.!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, at least, it is for me!. When I write soul confessions into poetry, they are no longer for my eyes!. When others see them and interpret them I am different, somehow, through their eyes, able to take what they see, look into the mirror of myself, and wonder if indeed I am a different person that what I perceive!. In this wise, confession really is good for my soul!.!.!.not that anyone will ever know betwixt my fact and fiction!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Thoughts can not be held back - especially if they are powerful and always "on your mind"!. To set these feelings - on paper - is very cleansing for the soul!. It gives an opportunity - to look at and examine - what is going on - inside one's mind ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I confess, I really don't know!.It is a debatable question!.I guess if it makes the person confessing feel better then it is a good thing, as long as the person listening to the confession keeps it to himself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good for the soul!?
Hmmm!.!.!. Let's see!.

I'm in love with my baby
But oh woe with me

A confessory poem
I'm writing for thee

Now the whole world
Will be aware of my plight

My little sheep and me
dancing away the nightWww@QuestionHome@Com

I would say it depends on the poet!. I did a confession poem recently and felt much better afterwards!. However, I believe it is the only one I will ever do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is a huge difference between confession and puking all over the monitor!. All fiction is autobiography on some level, I think!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The need for confession damages the soul!. Confession proves us liars!. Liars are not what poetry needs!. Poetry and art feed on truth, and individual and imperfect perceptions thereof!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
