Question: Have you heard the legend of "The Well"!?
The Well

Have you heard the legend of the well
that sat in the middle of nowhere
yet everywhere!?
Discovered by one lost soul who
parched with thirst
dropped their cup
into water so inviting!.
They found the taste
sweet and inviting
so they stayed to drink some more!.
This discovery a secret
that could not be kept
soon many clamored 'round the well!.
In greed and dire need
they drank day after day
craving their own satiation!.
Day finally came
when first to arrive
found the well had run dry!.
They looked around for an answer!.
The owner of the well
suddenly appeared
said simply
"You emptied my well
with no thought of the price!.
I never promised its
source would be endless!.
Go now, leave me be!.!.!.
me at the bottom of my well!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

the little boy stood over the well, last penny in hand, wishing
wondering, hoping, tossing!.!.!.!.
blue eyes blinked, copper shimmers echoed to corrupted ears, as his furtive thoughts on peace landed, in an empty well

echoing off earthen walls
circuitous sounds reverberated
forced to surface
salient subtleties
flowed upwards to
downcast faces
splashing the eyes
with revival

Hence the expression "going to the well once too often"!. Just like many other "secrets", the problem in not keeping them is that they cease to be secrets and everybody wants in!. That nice area near the ocean, now polluted & over-developed with high rise buildings, that credit which is automatically granted -give people a chance to ruin something good & they'll do just that!.
The "runaway American Dream" as mentioned by Springsteen!. Or as a friend of mine once put it, "Give some people an inch and they want a yard, so you give them a yard -and then they want a pool in it"!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

A true parable for us all to follow!. Of course, there is always the tenet of "eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow you may die" but then there is always the ability to savor the transience of something and only take as we need!. I think the economy could stand to learn this lesson!. Thank you, Sue, for your edification!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As it is in the rest of the world!. Take what you need, then take also what you want but do not really need!. When it is gone, we'll just dig a new hole to plunder, until all holes are empty!. Then we cease to exist!. Take me to Mars, please!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A very good lesson-poem for those who try to give too much!. for they will be left with nothing for themselves!. Don't be left drained and parched, gasping for refreshment!.Once in a while you have to close the well!. My advice!.!.!.!.

Clearly you can never have enough of a good thing, and unfortunately that good things is never meant to be eternal!. All good things have an end, and I sort of feel bad for the first person who was trying to preserve this well, and how naive they were about the whole thing!. I mean yeah, people weren't willing to give back, they just used and abused and took!. While this person who had discovered it, sat there sad over the loss of this good thing!. They should have enjoyed it while it lasted and this i believe is their flaw!. For other people who took part in this well, they had no attachment, they had no care - they took they used, and they moved on to another well!. I guess i just feel bad for this person!. but can't help them for being just a little bit selfish!. But once you get past that you won't see the need to feel bad!. Instead you will look back at smile!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
