Question: Do these lines follow the Dactyl form !?
I am having trouble gasping the rhythm, any advice and feedback would be great!.

Assignment-Write ten original lines using a three-syllable rhythm like the anapest or dactyl!.


1!. Dance with me!. One two three!. Hold me tight!.

2!. Indianapolis, my hometown!.

3!. Tenderly, he call me, honeybee!.

4!. Strawberry wine, oh how nice, it goes down!.

5!. Carefully she hid her bitterness!.

Thank you for doing your homework, then asking about it, unlike other people!. This seems good for dactyl form, since it has one long syllable, followed by two short ones!. Try reading them the way you did in elementary school, clapping out the syllables, and you should notice that trend!. You can include the -ed or -s on "call" because it doesn't mess up the scheme!. The only problem would be 4, straw-ber-ry makes up the dactyl, so you have an extra short syllable, making it a primus paeon instead of a dactyl!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
