Cemetery Plot

How rigid we have become,
following laws to preserve!.
No headstone of oak tree be,
must be stone or metal bronze!.

Arranged rows and cataloged
dominoes laid end to end
neatly stacked, dignified rule
aisles spaced for the gawkers view!.

Monuments built, grandeur sought!.
Look at me… here I am here!.
and yes, looking down on you,
simple stone…never ever!

Plots are purchased long before
a comfort to some in knowing
others like to save a buck!.
Look there’s my plot…yes so nice!

Train arrives and then departs
and in between we pay all
Perhaps fitting in the end
earthen hole and monument!

Neat poem as usual, & I got a kick out of Jeff's A!.!.!.!.!.
Cemeteries here are not very strict, the array is overly colorful for
some, shepherd hooks, wind chimes!.!.!.!.When my granddaughter (now
14) was four, she said, "Why visit there is no body there!." Those kids

I have a freebie, my family has their own cemetery in New England, designated historic!. Lots of my forbears from the late 1600's to the present!. My kids want to shoot my ashes to space!. I don't expect I'll care when the time comes!. I really liked this!. It's the one hole you can't go around!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I live my life carefree and full of spirit!. I am not a formal person nor do I like plans and order!. I prefer spontaneity, breathing in each moment as it comes!. In death I hope to do the same!.!.!.!.as I swim free in the Ocean beside the dolphins!.

You should see the cemetery of the Russian Orthodox Monks in upstate NY!. The monks use it for contemplation!. It is not a cold, scary place!. I however, will float forever in Ocean's waters!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One of the coolest places in KC is the old Union Cemetery!. The lumberjack's headstones are carved marble tree stumps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
