Drinks splashed
false laughter rises
hungering halves
looking
to be made
whole
music blares
band plays on

hand proffered
as request
no words spoken
blue eyes knew
reply
would be
yes
so they danced

close and tight
swaying slowly
throughout the night
he held her
boldly
as though he
owned her
she acquiesced

bar emptied
band packed up
there they stayed
swaying
to the beat
of shared hearts
his warmth
healing her

without warning
buzz of morn alarm
abruptly ended
recurring dream
yet she smiles
knowing tonight
they'll dance
again

I like the poem, but the dream sequence is a bit overused!. I would prefer it to have been a meditation or a thought/illusion created by some outside stimulus!.
