Question: When it is a guitar, can you make it a drum, a saxophone a guitar, a drum just some soft piano!?
Getting that word that people
have heard
but are not yet tired of hearing
that word that makes them think
of something fierce
and alive
the word is not there
so we make up colors
maybe the flowers will look different
if we don't look at them at all
maybe the meter will be gone
if we don't invite it to the party
maybe we can't tell what is cold
and where the tree tops get their power
and that is alright you can't hold
the candle and kick down the doors
at the same time you can't
break your lines and think of a new phrase
that will leave them with a bloodied mouth
at the same time
you can go on and on until
you feel like the painted faces feel familiar
and you become a beggar
because you could really use somebody
right now
the voice that crackles on inflection
someone like yourself
if you had the time
maybe mighty arcs of bird wing
will make you feel free enough
to read without stopping
and when you get to the end
you won't be red with anger
anymore!.

with utmost respect and sincerity!.

Please have mercy and publish a book exclusively of this man's work!.
These teases of a few posts a day I can bear no longer!.
I want to hold his words in my hands, touch their ink, feel their warmth on a page, not this cold computer screen!.
Sincerely,

(panting, a little out of breath, reading this aloud) This is the best job description of a poet I have ever read and thank you for the reminder of a poet's high calling!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are only 26 letters but they make countless words!. The average American teenager uses only 500 different words daily!. It is said that Shakespeare used one million words at a time when the language was infinitely smaller than it is today!.

Isn't language mysterious!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

A soothing voice for a raging mind is always a strong elixir!. A glass of wine or Jack will help too! Strong lines: 'break your lines and think of a new phrase that will leave them with a bloodied mouth!.'Www@QuestionHome@Com

Another one of your great examples - showing how prose doesn't need a bunch of "what the hell is that word" words!.

Some of us think too hard and get lost!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, but if it a guitar or a piano, I can make it sound really, really bad! Great as usual!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can make a drum on anything!. *pounding guitar* yup, it works!. Very well written once again!. ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

This poem begs to be read aloud without stopping for a breath!.!.!.I liked it! (Though I had to breathe through it!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com
