Who was it that said "Mothers know best"!? Well I have something that I must confess!. My mother was not the smartest thing Until my adult life, my brain it did bring!. Mothers get awfully smart you know They become more than the average Joe, My mother was smarter than me after all I just couldn't see it because I was not tall!. Now I must tell everyone with a moan My mother was smarter than me all along!. Although there are things different about me than my mother, I do give her some credit in some areas, like how she told me in recent times she grew up dirtest poor and sometimes had to go to bed hungry, and never had toys for Christmas because her family was so poor ( she grew up in the deep south, born in the '40s), but she would not change anything about her childhood!. I like the idea you're trying to go for!.!.!.!. but there's a lot of lines in here where it feels like they are only present for the sake of rhyming!. Try: My mother was not the smartest being, Until my adult life, she knew everything!. I think that you should be more specific about WHAT, exactly, she knew that you didn't!. My own mother was fond of saying: 1!.) If you keep making that face, it will stick that way!. 2!.) The world does not revolve around you!. 3!.) Don't put all your eggs in one basket!. Correlations you could make between each of those is: 1!.) Getting wrinkles from frowning 2!.) It revolves around your children!. 3!.) Diversify your stocks or you're going to bankrupt!. If you're an adult, then it would make it a more powerful poem to point out specifically what she knew then that you know now!.!.!. I wrote a poem along similar lines!.!. but mine was intended to be humorous!. I actually opened with this: I now know what she knew then!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Should read !.!.!." my brain did bring!." omit the "it" I think the line "I just couldn't see it because I was not tall" does not fit for me in the context of the poem!.
