Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I confess, the poem is bloody hard reading!. It's hard to know whether to put an arm round her shoulders for her inner pain or her neck for her tormented whining!. Yes, there are an awful lot of poems, paintings, sculptures etc out there by 'great artists' that would be ignored or even reviled if done by an unknown!. I don't know whether it is sycophancy, idol worship or simply fear of not appearing to be in step with 'current thinking' on the arts!. Good luck with the analysis, I don't envy you on this one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Well, I won't claim that I understand Sylvia Plath's poetry perfectly, but one lesson that literature teaches you is not to condemn 'twisted minds' with bias but learn to look at the reasons behind!. Sometimes the so-called sick minds are saner than the ';normal' majority and they can tell you many truths about human nature that the normal perspective may miss!. Sylvia Plath had a very oppressed, difficult childhood that marred her adult life as well and her only outlet was her poetry!. Yeah, I actually like the poem, although I agree Plath's works are not really suitable for examination purpose!. I myself left out the two Sylvia Plath poems that I had in my syllabus for the graduation exam although I liked reading them!. I admit they are difficult, which is why you should not have left them this late!. Her poems require a little bit more time and compassion!. Take her as a tortured sould, rather than a as sick ind!. And she certainly was no serial killer or anything like them!. She was no criminal!.
