Sunday Morn

The field lay
!.!.hidden in the mist!.
Shadows move to and fro
!.!.creatures unknown!.
The smell
!.!.coffee perking!.
Sounds;
!.!.a distant car,
!.!.two crickets fiddling,
!.!.slap of fish in the pond!.

A sense of peace envelops me!.

!.!.Nature's domain,
!.!.God's Church,
I am home!.

Simple, and in its simplicity, sort of elegant!. I can readily link it to the world outside of my own back door!.
Love the fact that it isn't crowded with useless metaphors, similes and other oh so wrongly overused literary devices!.

"Out My Back Door" sounds dirty!.
The poem's fine though, last stanza seems a bit forced, comes out of nowhere!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
