It’s for sitting, Sarah says,
a place for resting heads,
to see the things she sells,
on the walls
and on the shelves,
or in the bins
stickered red, green and yellow!.
I’ll have three of these,
Mon Chéri, if you please,
pointing to the box of Polka Dots!.
The rounds ones, very nice,
an ebonizing slice,
set upon the white,
spaced carefully!.
“Would you care to try the stripes,
or, perhaps, seersucker pipes!?”
No, the spots are all I need,
I don’t like when colors bleed,
I like to know what’s what
and what I see!.
“Thank you,” Sarah says,
“Come again, for hues instead!.

just down the stairs!.”
