There is a really talented poet
Who posts poems on this site
Unfortunately for me
He doesn't know wrong from right!.
He comes in many guises
Which to me is telling lies'es!.!.!.(sorry for the desperate rhyme)
I wish he would pick a persona
(the one that suits him best)
Then his talent
Could be recognised,
valued and honoured by the rest!.

I have no desire to open up a can of worms - I am just uneasy not knowing with whom I am communicating!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Honesty!? Few of you can handle honesty! If someone writes a duff poem and posts it on a public forum they should be prepared for an honest assessment good or bad!. Most of the people on this site are bored amateurs with too much time on their hands who have decided to adopt the persona of 'poet' whether they are 'honestly' entitled to assume such a mantle or not!. If folk want to hear only good things about their writings they should stick to showing it to their disinterested family and friends who are more likely to coo over it than others are!.

You will learn far more from someone telling you the truth, however distasteful you may find it at the time, than people telling you that you have talent if you don't!. People who fear criticism are probably wiser to seek feedback in a more limited sphere than the Y/A Poetry Site!. (And I'm not picking out Grannyjill!.!.!.I'm addressing everyone!.)

I've often thought about playing around with that idea as a practice for my fiction writing--you know trying to be a character actor or something, but I don't know how to do it and I'd screw it all up anyway!. You'd have to be a talented writer to pull it off!. Not to mention Mixtli is already a character derived from my true self!. He's supposed to be nice and polite with a good sense of humor!. In reality, I have no tact and find nothing funny about people!. I'd rather talk to a tree than exchange pleasantries with a stranger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree 100%! I find myself suspicious of many unknown identities these days and it does bother me!. Especially in that one person could have 2 such completely different personalities, one being rude and heartless and the other being sweet as pie!.!.!.Which one is real!?!? Don't know what to suggest!. I've never really had the problem!. I occasionally dabble in poetry, and if I post I expect some honest criticism and am prepared for the occasional wacko!. I've never used multiple identities in activities like this one!. I do have some other e-mail accounts, however!.

Sometimes the poet has to open a second account just to read other Y!A users' poetry because they all decide to block him!. Think of all of the good things that poet said to you, and about you!.!.!.that is real!. Imagine that the other poet has been unfairly stigmatized and driven out of town by a faction that would rather listen to lies than examine the facts and you will begin to understand his frustration!. Imagine that he loves poetry enough to write as well as he does, and sees people who think that it can be turned into silly chatter about Dragons, Snidely the Rooster, and that he sits at his laptop, taking breaks from work to pop in to look at poetry, one of the few things in his life he cares about anymore because so much of the rest has been cheapened by a coarse and mindless American culture, and sees endless cooing over poems about the joys of morning coffee!.!.!.and last and worst of all, imagine that a few of the people he met on this site, who he thinks have real talent, real promise, and toward whom he has always been respectful and kind, block him, ignore him, reject him!. Then you will understand why he opens a second account -- it seems the safer solution when the more customary solution would be to walk away and leave those people hurt!. Where do you think the hurt to write something like "Robert Scarlett's Song" comes from!? It comes from living in this world, from seeing what you love die, from knowing you must simply endure it!.!.!.I am sorry for feeling this way, for you see that I am just another person who has a need to be accepted, to be heard and appreciated, to step away from the petty vindictive spites of the world and find a place of safe haven; I am just another person who has come to you with honesty and left only with questions; I am just another person!.!.!.What say you!? I know who it is as well!.!.!. look at it as a way of this person to exhibit different parts of his personality, as if a character in a play vs the real him!. For me it is entertaining for I can easily see who you are referring!. It is also ok with Y/A community standards to have more than one account however there are restrictions on how it can be used!.

I have more than one account but seldom use the other!.!.!. and I don't use it to be malicious!. I also am not who you are talking about here!. When you realize your account can be stolen or deleted you get a back up!. I also back up my hard drive!.!.!. to me it's the same precaution!.

To be a character outside your real self!.!.!. to me that sounds like fun!.!.!. but I could never be Snidley Whiplash!.
