Question: What say you to "assisted suicide"!?
There I stood in the night,
out on the broken pier!.
Me, with my feet in the sea;
You, with your face in the clouds!.

As I heard your voice,
felt your laugh flood across my feet,
I wanted to die!.
Right then and there!.

You smiled down across the waves
!.!.!.to reassure me!?
I felt your eyes;
like the tide,
pulling me out to sea!.

For just one moment,
you held me there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Very good imagery; I could feel the whole setting!. The connection you make to the person is very well communicated!. Check the grammar in line 3!. And, I am not sure how you could have your feet in the sea if you are standing on a pier!. I think this needs a little clarification!. Great work!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Beautiful poem and a great ad for euthanasia
I made a couple of suggestions in your text!.!.!.I hope you will find them helpful!.

There I stood in the night,
balanced on the ruined pier!.
Me, with my feet in the sea;
You, with your face in the clouds!.
As I heard your voice,
felt your rippling laughter plash against my feet,
I wanted to die!.
Right then and there!.

You smiled down across the waves
!.!.!.to reassure me!?
I could feel your eyes;
like the tide,
pulling me out to sea!.

For just one moment,
you held me there!.

I chose "balanced" for want of a better word because I felt "out on" was just a dead phrase that gave no immediacy to the scene you were setting!.!.!.
I added rippling and plash to attach a bit of onomatopoeia to your laugh line so as to heighten its lyric quality!.!.!.
I chose "could feel" because it emphasizes the relentless urgency and the unending constancy of tidal attractionWww@QuestionHome@Com

We can only know, what we know!. Not what they know!.

And hope upon hope, to see them again!.
