tentative
halting

My usual confidence and buoyancy gone

Not given in its usual fleeting moment;
disperses, as I have attempted to
do with these emotions that possess me,
in your name!.
I am afraid of your devastating power,
and so I live, daily, on a tightrope
Walking a delicate line,
straining to maintain
balance and composure!.
God, please don't let me fall back into
that uncertain place where my love is given
freely, abundantly and never returned!.
I would rather tread an endless life of
tightrope, and live in fear;
all because you broke my heart!.
