Red Leaf
By Jonni F!.

Wandering up the cold stone path,
slipping,
moss dampened by early morning rain,
a hint of color
in the corner of my eye!.

One red leaf
to break the monotony
of the wet, sticky day!.

Crisp, and bright,
The promise of fall!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Please forgive the insolence, I have re-Jellzed your poem to guide it to the twist Elaine and Neonman refer to!. Not sure it fully works but maybe just another way to consider!. You have built a fine framework to enable me to do that Jonni!. kudos!.

Sign of things to come
by Jonni and Jellz

Wandering up the cold stone path,
slipping,
moss dampened by early morning rain,
Monotone greyness
Spoils my view

Wet, sticky day!.
Sky laden, ground moistened

Suddenly,
in the corner of my eye!.
Crisp, and bright,
Promise of change!.!.!.

Wow, Very good image!. I love the contrast between the cold stones and the humid day!. What about trying the last two lines as:

Crisp and bright,
it is the promise of fall!.

This makes a complete sentence and there should be no comma after crisp in this context (eats, shoots and leaves)!. also, did you consider "tedium" or maybe "ennui" instead of monotony!? Just a thought!.

I hate writer's block; I wrote a long poem about its frustration!. I am glad you have worked out if it; I really like this poem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I hate these hints for then I know what quickly comes next! lol Nicely said!. You could edit this more but as is, flows nicely and the image of one red leaf stands in contrast to the day you paint!. My compliments!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Descriptive!. You might consider not giving us so many clues in advance!. I really expected a twist at the end!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
